Written at the beginning of the 1960’s, in the middle of the Cold War, when the capitalist and communist powers sought to dominate the world, The Social Christ came out to counteract this socio-political polarity, thereby offering humanity a new paradigm based on the Revolution of Consciousness, that is, on a conscious revolutionary ethics.

As Samael Aun Weor explains elsewhere, his overall mission not only concerns the esoteric or religious field, but also embraces the social and economic spheres of nations, which the author extensively addresses in this book.

At first sight, it would appear that the information in this book is outdated, since more than fifty years have passed since its writing. But a deeper perspective tells us otherwise.

While it is true that the traditional forms of communism and fascism have mostly disappeared from society, it is no less true that new forms of totalitarian ideologies are currently emerging in the middle of it, worldwide. These new forms are once again creating new conditions of coercion and suffering — only this time in a more subtle and subreptitious way. The book addresses this recurrent social phenomenon and suggests methods to avoid its effects.

In view of this, the core information in this book has not lost its relevance for the discerning reader.

The Social Christ is an extensive book (sixty-three chapters), which combines social, economic and psychological subjects, making up a whole unit, and having as a leitmotif an emphasis on self-knowledge and psychological transformation, with a view to achieving a more conscious and just society. As the author stresses throughout the book: the exterior, our society, is a reflection of the individual. If the individual does not change, society will remain the same; it will not change either.

In the author’s own words: ‘It is urgent to eliminate selfishness and cultivate Christ-centredness. Only in this way can we make a better world…’

Finally, as it is written in the Preface of the book:

The Social Christ is more than a denunciation of communism and capitalism. It contains the principles and values that must govern a just society. These are based on Conscious Politics, as it will be applied by the rulers of the coming future humanity.

Synopsis of the Book

Written in a style resembling current self-help books, Introduction to Gnosis is unique in the work of Samael Aun Weor.

In the words of the author himself, this book is an introduction to the Gnostic philosophical studies, and deals with the external degrees of Gnosis. He says:

‘It is necessary to bear in mind that the external degrees of Gnosis are not the esoteric Gnostic degrees. The esoteric Gnostic degrees are given to the student when he or she is ready for them’.

And he goes on to stress the importance of practice, in order to progress in the Gnostic studies.

So, the book deals with topics related to ‘external foundations‘, making it an invaluable book to acquire the level of good householder or, in other words, the level of a balanced and efficient citizen, capable of fulfilling all duties of life (external and internal).

This book is a call and an invitation to develop the reserves of intelligence that every human being has within, in a latent state.

The language of the book is easy and uncomplicated, making it accessible to people of all walks of life and backgrounds. Every person can benefit from the study and application of this book.

‘Study this book. Study it with true incentive, with the desire to learn, with the desire to know the higher wisdom. But remember that, if you want to achieve the perfection of the Work, you have to put into practice what you have learnt’.

Synopsis of the Book

As its title suggests, Fundamental Education is a book entirely devoted to the important subject of Education.

Specially geared towards parents and teachers, who are directly responsible for the education of children and young people, this book is also of especial interest to all those who are interested in Gnosis, since, in it, Samael Aun Weor deals with general and important Gnostic subjects, such as the meaning of Revolutionary Psychology, the Awakening of Consciousness, etc., from new angles, which are found nowhere in the extensive corpus of the Avatar of Aquarius — with the added advantage that this book is written in a simple and clear language, devoid of technical terms, and hence within the reach of people of all walks of life.

Written in the year 1966, Fundamental Education comes to fill a vacuum and a pressing need in the educational field as this society increasingly alienates itself from the genuine values of the Being, thus creating for itself multiple problems which it cannot solve.

As Samael Aun Weor explains in the book, Fundamental Education is based on two important pillars, namely Revolutionary Psychology and Revolutionary Ethics, which the author spells out through out the thirty seven chapters of the book.

This particular Psychology and Ethics are based on the recovery of the values of Consciousness, that is, of that which is truly human, and it is latent in all of us.

Samael Aun Weor truly knows what he is talking about, since he was a husband and father himself, and a firm advocate of home schooling; so he was a teacher to his children. Consequently, everything that he states in this book is a fruit of his own reflection and direct experience.

The essential contents of this book, as with all the books written by Samael Aun Weor, will be only fully understood by a new humanity in tune with the genuine values of Consciousness. In the meantime, this book will be a guide, a constant reference book, an invaluable help, for anyone who longs to educate himself/herself and wisely educate others.

‘Fundamental Education is the science of consciousness. It is the science that allows us to discover our relationship with our fellow human beings, with nature, with all things.’

‘The aim of Fundamental Education is to awaken consciousness. It is useless to spend ten or fifteen years studying in schools, colleges and universities if, on leaving the classroom, we are sleeping automatons.’

‘It is urgent that school, college and university teachers fully understand the critical hour in which we live and the catastrophic state of psychological confusion in which the new generation is.’
