Synopsis of the Book
Written in 1959, Logos, Mantram, Theurgy is an entirely practical book on Gnostic esoterism.
The first part of the book deals with the ‘Logos‘, here mainly meaning the power of speech, which is so closely connected to the science of Universal Sound and the power of Mantrams (special words of power).
In regard to this subject, Samael Aun Weor makes an extensive explanation of the esoteric foundations of the Science of Sound and Mantrams, including a considerable number of practices for the development of the chakras (inner psychic faculties) as well as astral projection and the Jinas science (entrance into the higher dimensions with the physical body), and other esoteric exercises.
The deepest side of the science of sound and mantrams concerns the awakening of Kundalini and the divine science of Theurgy (a priestly science of the Adepts of the White Brotherhood), which the author profusely explains throughout the book.
Also included in this book, and as a necessary complement to its fundamental theme, the author warns us about the dangers of Goetia (black magic) – a practice diametrically opposite to Theurgy.
Specifically, Samael Aun Weor points out the ten major forms of dark attacks used by black magicians in their constant endeavour to cause harm to humanity in general and to the aspirants to the worlds of Light in particular. In this regard, he gives specific methods and formulas for an efficient protection against them.
Therefore, it is easy to understand that knowledge of this threat is vital, and even urgent, for any aspirant who wants to tread the Esoteric Path successfully.
In finishing this book, we sincerely hope that many disciples, who so far have only theorized, will find the ‘key’ allowing them to open the Ark of Science.
